As it is of common knowledge by the Brazilian society, especially entrepreneurs, the General Data Protection Law or LGPD has been in force since September 2020.

The LGPD was inspired by the European legislation, and from it imported several principles, rights, structures and procedures on the protection of personal data.

The new Law created numerous rights for the holders of personal data,  respect for the principles of processing these data, and also providing for management acts and procedures that demand measures from all personal data controllers, contemplating severe consequences in case of failure of conformity.

In this sense, the law brought a legal provision of a series of obligations for the controllers of this data, establishing their own civil liability regime, and also providing for administrative sanctions - fines - which can reach up to R$ 50,000,000.00 (fifty million  Reais).

In addition to the various innovations brought by the LGPD, the creation of a relevant character stands out, which appears at least seven times in the legislative text: the figure of the Person Responsible for the Processing of Personal Data, or, as it is called, the Data Protection Officer - DPO.

Seeing this need and the relevance of the role of the DPO within organizations, Pine Data Officer was founded during the year 2020, after much study by its partners, with the main purpose of providing data supervisor services or "Data Protection Officer" , for individuals and legal entities, from the public and private sectors, regardless of their nature.
